Meet some of our volunteer alumni staff!

The Y-MUN MS program relies on a group of volunteers to design, plan, and execute the program each year. Not only are these volunteers dedicated to the mission of the YMCA Civic Engagement programs but also they are alumni of the same programs!

Meet some of our volunteer alumni staff below —

1jaclynmahoneyJaclyn Mahoney

Jaclyn has been a volunteer staff member since graduating from the YMCA’s High School Model UN program in 2007 and has served as Program Director for the Middle School Model UN program for nearly a decade. When not volunteering, she works in business intelligence for a sports data company, where she aspires to promote gender equity in sports.

1ianmahoneyIan Mahoney

Ian has been the Operations Coordinator and Undersecretary General for Middle School Model UN program since 2012. He works in health policy and is a big fan of baseball, the Marvel movies, and voting.

1caitybatteyCaity Battey

Caity has been a volunteer staff member since graduation from high school in 2011. She serves as a project manager at the McCain Institute for International Leadership at Arizona State University in Washington, DC.

1gurpalsranGurpal Sran

Gurpal has been a volunteer staff member since graduating from the YMCA’s High School Model UN program in 2011. Outside of volunteering for Middle School Model UN, he studies accounting and information economics as a PhD candidate at the University of Chicago. 

1christinafroelichChristina Froelich

Christina has been involved with MUN since she was in middle school herself, and is coming up on her fourth year as a volunteer staff member. Outside of the YMCA, Christina is a marketing specialist for an investment firm and a competitive athlete, currently training for the CrossFit Open.

1jerrycedroneJerry Cedrone

Jerry has been involved in the YMCA’s Model UN programs for 17 years — from 2003-2007 as a student participant, and since 2007 as a volunteer staff member.  When not volunteering, Jerry works as an attorney at a Boston law firm, where he focuses on litigating cases in the U.S. Supreme Court and state and federal appeals courts.

1bethbaumBeth Baum

Beth has been a volunteer staff member since graduating from the YMCA’s High School Model UN program in 1999.  She has been a lead staff member for the high school program for many years, and is very excited for her first year as a member of the Middle School Model UN team.  When not volunteering, Beth is an attorney who works for an insurance broker and consulting firm, where she assists with compliance for employee health and welfare benefits.
